what a GREAT question. (I'm an art history major). I would love to own an original Picasso because they are SO hard to afford nowadays and I still think he is one of the most amazing, prolific, style changing artists of all time. Or I would love to own an original Franz Marc painting. He did these great colorful abstract paintings expressing the emotion of animals.

A painting by Georgia O'Keeffe would be nice...or Edgar Degas' bronze sculpture of The Little Dancer.

hmm,i'm gonna say the mona lisa, simply because it would bring the most money - and i would then sell it. i love art,but i need money more...if it were just to have one - i would say something picasso,or salvador dali. perhaps picasso's blue nude - i have a print of that one and like it. or the kiss - gustav klimt i think.. i like it too.
