Well my favorite team is the White Sox, Albert Belle is probably my all-time favorite. What a powerful bat he had!
I think the World Series winner this year will be the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (who came up with that?). An extra bat at the trade deadline would've helped, but I think they are still in good shape. Anderson came off the DL a couple weeks ago and finally has seemed to get back on track. Figgings can do it all with the bat, Willits has been a huge new asset to the team all year, Izturis is really heating up, Cabrera has been hitting well this year and has a great batting average, Matthews, Jr. has been delivering power all year and even batted in the #4 spot while Anderson was hurt, and no one doubts the power of Vladdy. And let's not forget, Kendrick is still on the DL so their offense will improve even more whenever he's healthy. So while a guy like Teixiera would've really put the team on the map, they still offensively have a good shot. But their pitching is what's going to get them a World Series. Lackey, Escobar, and Weaver all are dominant pitchers and quite possibly could be the best 3 starters on the same team this year (Padres and Tigers possibly have better 3's). And with the other 2 guys on the rotation, Saunders and Moseley, they have a combined 10-1 record this year. All the starters have to do is get to the 6th inning, and the dominant bullpen will take over. Speier in the 7th, Shields in the 8th, and K-Rod in the 9th equals lights out. I don't see anyone competing with them in the playoffs.
AL MVP- Very close between A-Rod and Magglio. I'd love to say Ordonez because him being a former White Sox star and all, but I think A-Rod should get it. He has an edge on Ordonez in all these stats: Runs, HR's, RBI's, BB's, XBH's, SLG%, OPS, and SB's. Ordonez has the edge in average and OBP, but the Tigers seem to be on a huge downfall and are about to be caught up by the Yanks in the Wild Card (even though I think Seattle will win it). I'll just for now it should be A-Rod.
NL MVP- Well before he got hurt, I would've said Chase Utley but I think his broken hand has ruined his chances. I'm going to go with Prince Fielder. It's close between him and Ryan Howard though, but Howard was hurt at the beginning of the year and the Phillies were still doing okay so he's not THE most valuable player even on his own team (Utley is). But the stats are very close between Prince and Howard. Prince has more HR's but Howard has more RBI's. Prince has a better batting average, but Howard has a better on-base percentage, but I'm still sticking with Prince since he has the edge in runs, XBH, and he strikes out less. And plus, can you see the Brew Crew right now in 1st without Prince?
AL Cy Young- This is a shot in the dark, but I'm going to go with Erik Bedard. 1st in K's, 2nd in WHIP, 5th in ERA, 5th in IP's and has managed to get 12 wins on a mediocre ballclub. While Beckett, Sabathia, Haren, J. Santana or Lackey should be the winner because they are on winning ballclubs, I think Bedard should win it.
NL Cy Young- Close beteween Peavy and Webb, but Peavy's stats are better so I'm going to say NLCY will be Jake Peavy, Padres.

all-time favorite baseball player isThurman Munson - best catcher ever
My favorite team is the Oakland Athletics
The red sox will prob win the world series (even tho it would be cool if the diamondbacks could)
MVPs -
rookie of the year should be Troy Tulowitski of the rockies but he prob does not get enough press to be a legitamite candidate
cy young - Dan Haren
gold gloves - I won't list all but I would like to see Mark Ellis - he rarely makes an error - in fact has 4 all year (2 on the same play... when he has a bad day he really has a bad day)
Mark Kotsay deserves a gold glove too. He has had some amazing catches and can throw out at the plate from center.
Jeder of course - he has a great work ethic and is a great role model to little leagers.

Tiger Woods, he is Superman.
But anyways, my all-time favorite is Fred McGriff. My favorite team is the Braves since I was a fan before we got a team in Tampa. I love the Rays too.
The Braves, Angels, or Tigers will win the WS. Probably the Tigers even though I think the best team right now is the Angels.
MVP - A-Rod and Prince Fielder
Cy Young - CC Sabathia and Brandon Webb

Mickey Mantle. Can't get over my childhood! He was so great.
The Indians will win the series. I picked 'em on day one and, besides, who wouldn't like to see another long streak broken?
MVPs and Cy Youngs are much harder. There are the guys who deserve the awards and then there are the guys the old lady writers vote for.
