Personally I have never had an issue with Dell tech support and have dealt with many companies on many occasions for support.
If you can properly relay to them what is happening then they usually can help you out quite easily. If you have issue with the accents then I suggest trying the on line chat. Its a touch slower but much easier in the long run. The only thing you have to remember is to not contact them from the machine you need help with as it may require a restart.
Keep in mind that Dell also provides a great diagnostic utility that you can boot to by pressing the F12 key during the system start up ((when you see their logo). If you run the full tests and it gives you an error code, you can give this to the support person right off the bat and they usually wont ask many questions beyond that.

absolutely no difference, the worst your going to get is a bit of trouble understanding the accent on the phone. I personally do not support this type of outsourcing, and i do believe any company such as dell that hands out jobs to other countries instead of at home should suffer some form of punishment for that, they are merely trying to save a few dollars and running the unemployment rates up for the almighty greenback.

I think it really depends on the person on the other end of the line. I have found both good service techs and bad service techs all the same. Also, it depends on your level of support and sometimes it really just depends on your attitude towards the service tech as well! Hope this helps!

After complaints from consumers earlier in the year, the company has done a good job upgrading its tech support service.

My computer was broken was months, brought it to pc world and they couldn't fix. If you bought a dell recently you received a sheet with "dell gold" on it, ring up one of the numbers on it, i found them extremely helpful and the calls are free.

You can get an in home warranty, and they come out pretty fast. Even replaced my daughter's computer with a new one.
