The driver is usually in the CD that comes w/ the soundcard or the CD containing the motherboard drivers. If you do not have the CD, download the driver from the internet.

I'm almost sure that if you go to Microsoft Update. Which should be in your start menu. Then go to All Programs, it should be in the first column at the very top. This should automactically update that driver, but if not then just go to the mfg. website . They will have it under support and downloads.

Hi!

Some Sound Cards are not DirectX9 compatible. If you update the drivers and reinstall DirectX and nothing happens, consider buying a new sound card.

Simply uninstall the drivers you have and reinstall them again.If that doesnt work download new drivers from the internet.

goto device manager, then expand 'sounds, video game ...' and uninstall your sound card driver and restart the system.

Now XP will detect your card and you insert you driver CD. then click next and installation will be compleated.

Download and install DirectX v9.0C
Download from:

And I don't think there's a thing called "sound card NOT compatible with DX9" ;)

find the sound card that you have, search it up on the internet, and download the newest patches and stuff.
