Not necessarily. If there is a bit of poo in the plumbing, it might get pushed out with all that straining. But the muscles that do that are not the ones that you'd use to give birth. There are 3 sets of muscles in the pelvic floor. Those that control the bladder, the bowels and the birth canal. Once you can isolate the muscles fo the birth canal the others are not used, so no poo. And in my case with my first baby, it was a wee not a poo that went all over the delivery room. Now that was embarrasing!!

Often. It's completely normal when you think about it. The woman is using a tremendous amount of force to push a human out of the same general area. In fact, they tell you to bear down like you are having the biggest bowel movement of your life. If there's something in there, it may come out. Of course, there's something MUCH larger heading down in the same region, so it's not like there is a ton of space for a large bm to get through! In years gone by, women sometimes had to have an enema before delivery to prevent this from happening. Now, I guess it's seen as normal and not a big deal. The nurses, midwives and OBs are used to it, and they just whisk it away.

I don't even know if I did while I delivered my children. There was too much going on in that area for me to notice a little bm! My husband doesn't know either. He was my labor support person, but he didn't spend a ton of time looking "down there." He figured he'd like to visit that area again in the future :) One or two glances at the head crowning were adequate for him. Plus, I had a death grip on his hand while pushing (natural deliveries), so he was stuck by my shoulder.

As a new parent, you will be dealing with SO MUCH poop in the first couple of years that any occuring during delivery will probably be forgotten.

not all women do but yes some do. it's because women use the same muscles to push out a baby as they use to poo. so if a women has not cleaned herself out prior to labor the likelyhood of it happening is greater.

Some women do and some women don't. Most opt for getting an enema which fixes that problem but even if they don't and the woman does do that the docs and nurses don't even notice and just go about their job.

Yep, typically. When your pushing that hard, it is bound to happen. A lot of women are so embarrassed, but it is very, VERY common.

Besides, your so busy pushing out your baby, you aren't thinking about that anyway.

Sometimes - probably more often than not. It's actually a good sign that you're pushing with the right muscle groups.

I have heard from people that have experienced this, that it can happen, and it scares me! It is do to the strain of pushing. I think when I get close I will limit my food intake a little~

Yes, sometimes.
But it's normal, and the doctors have seen it before. But the doctor or nurse expects it and quickly cleans it up, before the baby comes out.
