Wow!!! Do you work in a cooler??? Unless there are electronic computers that NEED those temperatures to operate or something else like that, sixty degrees is TOO COLD!!! Maybe your building is designed poorly in regards to that - I know it happens. So you need a parka inside at work, and a bathing suit outside on the way home... now there's an image!

back in the 70's used to be a practice never to set them below 78 in summer and above 65 in winter

Wow! Where are you? The public buildings here are about 78 in the summer and 68 in the winter.

well there is a law and i will tell you went i worked for the feds i was told nothing lower then 68and not above 74 that was it hot or cold with the equipment not if i could get the out side air in i could use it.i post this and try to find the regulation for this.

Plus an amendment stating that they can't then turn the thermostat above 73 in the winter....but yeah, I know what you mean....there is no happy medium......I hope you brought a sweater :)
