Depends on if in the water or not. In the water Croc wins, on land bear wins.
Each is fast in thier own element.

This is actually a tough question...

Full grown Nile Crocs are just as large as full grown Kodiaks, weight wise. Actually the largest crocs are heavier than Kodiaks. 1700 lbs for the croc, 1500 lbs to the bear.

Crocs have a strike that is second only to the Preying Mantis. It's strike is fast and accurate.

Crocs have a bite force that is second to none. Once it gets a hold, it does not let go. It has the capability of latching on to a full grown Water Buffalo and taking it down. They have about the same weight of the Nile Croc.

But Cape Buffaloes are not predators like the Kodiak Bear. The Kodiak has an arsenal of weapons that include extreme strength, sharp long claws, and a formidable mouth full of teeth. Although the Kodiak does not have the bite force of the croc, it is still something to be aware of.

Ok, this is the way it sorts out...

Kodiak approaches the water's edge where a waiting Nile Croc lays in wait. The croc attacks and latches on to the bear, but does not anticipate the bears quickness, nimbleness, and strength. It is unable to drag the bear into the water for a death roll. The bear holds it's ground and begins to drag the croc out of the water, even though the croc has got a firm hold, and will not let go. Once on dry land, the bear begins it's attack. Claws flailing, teeth biting, enormous amounts of strength being exerted against the croc.

The croc will eventually let go realizing that this is not a prey item that is worth the effort and risk. He lets go and flees to the water. The bear having been tested also flees in the other direction.

Even though both animals have sustained injuries, the bears defenses are less than the croc's. The bear has a thick layer of fat that protects it, while the croc basically has a suit of armor.

Both have sustained injuries, but the ones inflicted on the bear are much more serious, and could be life threatening. The croc will heal and just continue on it's way.

Should the croc have been lucky enough to have struck a major artery in the bear on it's first strike, then this could have easily ended in the bear's demise.

I think that both would survive, and has to nurse their wounds.

But who actually wins...Based on the severity of the injuries, I would have to say that the Nile Crocodile wins this battle.

In the water, the Saltwater Crocodile is more likely to win. It can move through the water at lightning speed, and it's jaw pressure is second to none. However, these animals are slow on land, so if taken out of the water to fight the bear then the crocodile would lose hands down! The Kodiak will not only have it's teeth, but it's claws. The Saltie would only have it's jaws, and in this kind of situation, I don't think that would be enough!

I would have to say no...

here is my reasoning...
A Kodiak bear has five very strong places it can use as weapons. 4 limbs with very large sharp claws and it's Jaws. The Croc only has it's jaws and it's weight. The Bear is also quite large and would be able to use it's weight as well. The Croc would have to attack at one of the 5 places that also contains the weapons and an attack to the neck or one of the 4 limbs would still leave 4 other weapons available.

I do not believe that a Croc would be able to bring down a large bear such as the Kodiak. It may be able to attack, wound, and get away from the bear, but it would have to be very lucky not to sustain a mortal wound itself.

Probably not unless he got the bear by suprise, even then ,the Kodiak would tear him apart. Kodiak have been seen fighting after being shot with high powered rifles 7-10 times.

It has already been documented by utilising video that a lion gained the croc conflict, although uncommon that occurence. I bear in mind looking at that video and questioning, its so unfair, the croc cant bend his neck up very a procedures. So, by utilising good judgment, lion beats croc, and all of us understand a polar undergo might slice a lion suited away flat. So good judgment dictates that polar undergo might win. The caveat is that the damaging croc grew to become into on the coastline while the lion attacked. interior the water, the croc might win. yet, Polar bears stay in water, so as which would be a exciting conflict. Addendum: Upon further learn (see 2nd source below), curiously Grizzlies are lots better at combating than Polar bears. In previous duels for interest, Grizzlies particularly beat lions and tigers (smashing their skulls earlier they might attack). because of the fact the Grizzly claws are 6 inches, in comparison with 2 inches for the Polar undergo, the Grizzly claw might penetrate crocodiles armor. additionally, on land the croc has constrained neck mobility. Quote: "Tigers have learnt to get around the lower back of the crocodile, then chew throughout the time of the cranium. A croc could be picked up and tossed countless metres. utilising those procedures the tiger is extensive-unfold to predate effectively upon this reptile." although, if a tiger is caught swimming via a river, the croc wins. In precis, on land the Polar/ Grizzly undergo might beat croc, because of the fact lions prey on crocs and Grizzlies beat lions. interior the water, the croc continuously wins. yet fairly, thats comparable to saying a shark might win... the better question is what might ensue on land. The undergo might leap out of the water. .

Boy, that creates quite a visual. I think the one with the most points at the end of 10 rounds would be the winner.

Not if the fight takes place in the water. Then the croc would surely win.
