How cool would John McClane vs Aliens be? Nakatomi Plaza, half-finished and swarming with drooling, acid-blood xenomorphs. Bruce Willis with nothing but a handgun and a bad attitude...

Personally I like actors that play both parts, the good guy in some movies and the bad guy in others. It gives you some thinking power about how they are in real life and what would they do if they were split and faced themselves, the good side vs the bad side. Who would win? I recall a Star Trek movie where Captain Kirk accidentally got split in the transporter when he was being beamed back onto the ship from the planet below. He eventually fought himself and the good side almost lost. Being split made his good side's identity weaker.
I liked Star Wars where Luke Skywalker faught his own father, Darth Vadar. That is definitely good vs evil in a fight to the finish.

I like Maximus from Gladiator (protagonist). He's the greatest good guy of any movie I've seen. On the other hand, V from V for Vendetta (antagonist sort-of) is the coolest and most interesting villain I've seen yet. If they went up against each other it would be long and epic, but I think V would eventually beat Maximus. V has superhuman strength, reflexes, and agility, and fighting skills, while Maximus just has fantastic fighting skills.

Jack Bauer (24) vs Michael Myers (Halloween)
Think (hope) Bauer would win - with all the extra technology he has and his level of physical fitness, compared with michael myers who just walks slowly after his victims, and waves a knife around like a madman (which I guess he is!)
****Who could defeat Predator?****
EDIT, Can I change mine? Just had a re-think:
Jack Bauer vs Jigsaw (Saw)
I know Bauer is smart, but is he THAT SMART to get out of jigsaws "how much do you want to live" games???

My hero is Russell Crowe as Maximus, and worst bad guy is the shapeshifter from Terminator. I'm afraid Maximus wouldn't stand a chance against that thing.

I'll go with Atticus Finch and Darth Vader. I'd have to go with Finch winning. Vader's legal skills are legendary, but even his Jedi mind tricks are no match for the American justice system!
Oh. Wait. Maybe they are. :-P
