It's actually extremely simple.
take the original price (26)
and multiply it by 100-25 (or the percentage of sale) =75
basically 26 X .75

Say the shoes are $26 and there is 25% off.
First u divide the original price by 4 (as 25% is the same as a quarter).
26 divided by 4 = $6.50
Then now after finding 25%, you take it away from the original amount.
$26-$6.50=$19.50
and there you go

See 25 % is simply = 25/100 = 1/4 = 0.25
So if 25 % off is there, then the discount would be = 0.25 * 26
= $ 6.50

25% is 25/100=1/4 of the price.
so if u divide it by 2 twice u will get the discount.
26/2/2=13/2=6.5
and you will pay 26-6.5=19.5
Or
discount=26*25/100=26*1/4=13/3=6.5

Find the amount when the base and percent are known
amount = base times percent
Remove the % symbol. divide 25 by 100
25 / 100 = 0.25
multiply 26 times the decimal
26 x 0.25 = 6.5
The amount is $ 6.50
$ 6.50 is 25% of $ 26.00

Here's the formula : Is/Of = %/100
Is=X
Of=$26
%=25
x/26=25/100 (use cross multiplication)
100x=26(25)
100x=650
x=650/100
x=6.50
then you subtract x from your price to get your answer
26-6.50=19.50
