The meaning of things, including dreams, resides within the observer rather than the observed. We see meaning in things because we need to see meaning in them not because things are intrinsically meaningful. Take a comet as an example, at various points in history the passing of a comet was a powerful omen, full of meaning but today we understand that it is a predictable event that just happens. Comets are no more meaningful than a box of Cheerios. By the same token if you dream of gutting a fish with a sharp knife some dream analysts might say you are dreaming of sex when you may actually be dreaming of fishing, no hidden meaning, just literally dreaming of the event depicted.

Dreams that appear to need interpretation - series of events that are strange and disturbing - are simply just snapshots of what occupies our minds at any given time. We try to rationalize the events and in doing so create a continuum of action which may appear to have deeper meaning. If I dream about throwing a baby over a fence and talking to an ice cream eating dog my mind is simply picking up things and events that are on my mind and joining them together to form a coherent event. They are not made symbolic by the action, the action is an attempt to rationalize the images. When we scan across a room with our eyes we perceive our action to be a smooth sweep while in reality our eyes flit and pause from one object to another in a jerky fashion, it is our mind that fills in the gaps in the motion of our eyes. This is analogous with the way our minds fill in the blanks in our dreams' jerky movement from one image to another in order to create smooth, comprehensible action.

That's my opinion.

I play an MMORPG. All the time. Called Eudemons Online. Most of my dreams are based off of that game. I dream I'm playing the game. What's sad is people put way too much into the dreams they have. I'm 21 years old. When I was around 13 or so, I had a dream that made me feel when I was 33 I would die in a car crash. Nobody else involved, lifeted up 4x4. T street. A few years off, but I don't think that what I dreamed then, will come true. Even if I had the same dream 1 time every 6 years. Things change. You change. It's not your dreams that make your future. It's your future that'll make your dreams. Don't focus on a dream you have. If anything, they're more of a symbol of something that has happend, or never will happen. A warning, something to help you avoid a catastrophe you in your life. Live the life you have, the way you want, and not by any dreams.

I have had dreams that only confirmed what I was going through.

I have also had dreams that happened in true life, and dreams that I know are true, but have not happened yet those are dreams that I dreamed in stages.

I had a dream (18 yrs old.) about the book of Revelation, but never read this book of the bible, until many years latter , 3 months ago I dreamed of a loud earthquake that shook the heavens and the earth. I went to open my front door and saw that the heavens had opened up, no blue sky just space and all in space covering the earth like our air does now.

I have dreamed of all three of my children. I knew I was pregnant even after the test come back negative and the doctor's said it is impossible for you to conceive.

I have dreamed of a few different homes we have moved to years after the dreams. These dreams I chalked up to wishful thinking until some description I told someone was pointed out.

Pay attention to your dreams, many have meaning and some express how you may be feeling.

dreams do have a meaning depending on the dream because false dreams really don't mean anything. a dream you can remember is a false dream, A dream you can't remember has a meaning and it is a true dream because you aren't thinking about it and it may just happen. Meanings of dreams predict what to do that's only if you don't know what the dream is.

No. Dreams do not really have meaning. All meaning is post-applied, meaning that we can read into dreams and put whatever meaning we want AFTER the fact, and often do. But that does not give them true meaning. You can do the same thing with any arbitrary occurrence.

Some dreams do. Sometimes when you are going through extreme emotions, like feeling really worried, concerned, bothered or longing for something, it will get translated into your dreams when you sleep. Thats your brain doing that.

Some dreams are the your subconscious' way to work things out...things that you've been repressing...

Other dreams are simply your brain's way to keep the lights on in the building after all the office workers have gone home...

My dreams are almost always vivid, scary, sexual, and fun...

(Kinda' like my life...)
