I have a platy and she keeps on swimming up and down with her nose pressed to the wall. what does this mean?

She's looking for another Platy for company.

Platys love to swim in groups. They're happy doing that - most happy. When they are the only Platy in a tank they are frightened and get bored. You need to get at least two more platys so they can swim around together - and make sure one of them is a male. Sometimes the females will want to raise babies - so you need a male to help her make babies.

Not really sure what it "means" but everytime I have ever bought a platy they do this for 2-3 weeks then go back to normal. I think it might be how they get use to their new enviorment or something, still working on it. No need to be worried though they always go back to normal.

That's nothing at all to worry about, some fish just seem to like to do that. She may do it for weeks or might stop and begin to do something else, you never can tell, but it's part of what makes it fun to watch your fish.
