in my yukon my filter is an k&N filter but it dirty how do i clean it out instead of buyin an new one? somebody to me to get an recharge kit? will that work on an dusty filter?

You can re-clean your K&N for as long as you own it. I'd recommend the K&N cleaning kit and follow the instructions.
Do not use dish wash soap to clean the re-useable air cleaner, it's too harsh and could damage the gause filter media.
After you've adequatly cleaned it let it dry in the sun for an afternoon. Flip it over several times and be sure you place it at least 6" off a blacktop driveway to allow adequate ventalation benieth it.
The new kits have an aresol can of re-charge red oil. Be carerful not to over oil the filter. Follow the instructions and spray in one direction only.
Place it in the same area you let the water evaporate so the oil adequately soaks thre gause. If there are any oil droplets underneath the filter wipe off with a Scott blue shop disposable towell.
I always let mine drain for 6 hrs. before re-installation on the car.
These suggestions are wordy and I may sound like a wind bag but Im a meticioulus old buzzard who's done this job yearly since I've owned all my K&N air cleaners.

Rinse it out in petrol.I have been doing this on my dirt bike for years and years.I have never replaced my filter.Just be sure to let the petrol evaporate before you put it back in the housing.It will clean it up like new.Some people will tell you this is bad but it works really well.Dont listen to them.

You can buy the cleaner kit from Pep Boys or Auto Zone. I have always used simple green on mine though.
