the peak was today morning from 1 am to 4 am you may not have been able to see it though if the skys were cloudy or if you live near a city or urban area. Within cities there is light pollution which makes seeing the meteors almost impossible to see.

It helps to go out for a half hour or so. It takes 20 minutes for your eyes to completely adjust to the dark, and even then you might have to wait for meteors. It helps to stare at one point in the sky though, instead of scanning. The way your eyes work, if you are looking at something dark you are more likely to see movement out of the corner of your eye than looking straight on (if you want to why, its because the rods that allow you to see dark and light are mostly situated on the sides of your eyes, not in the center). So if you keep scanning, your eyes are less likely to see meteors.
Try again tonight. The peak was sometime Saturday night and last night, but you will still be able to see some tonight.

I got up at 4:00AM and watched for 20 minutes. I saw 2 meteors. My daughter was with me and she saw 6. Young eyes are better. Most of them were pretty dim and my suburban sky was not very dark. If we had driven out of the city to a place where the sky is so dark that when you look up your eyes pop out there are so many stars, then we probably would have seen a lot more.

You can't see meteors by looking once an hour every hour! You have to watch _continuously_ for at least 20 minutes...that's the time it takes your eyes to get used to the dark and sensitive enough to see them. They often come in bunches separated by 15 or 20 minutes of inactivity. It takes patience, committment, and a warm blanket! I saw dozens of meteors over a three hour period last night.
