I would say yes.
Its beauty alone would, in my opinion, qualify it as a wonder of the world, but when one takes into account the technology available at the time it was constructed, it becomes even more of an architectural marvel.
And, too, the sentimental part of me likes it as a tribute to a great love!

personally i wouldn't have selected it. But i can understand why it has been chosen. If the Black Taj Mahal (across the river, facing the white one) would have been built, it would certainly have been on my list.
Something i cannot understand is the Latin-American part of that list.
Chichen-Itza above the pyramides of Gizeh? Gimme a break.
That jezus-statue? Not only is it ugly, it's not even the largest statue in the world.
Machu Picchu was a fair choice.
How can Angkor not be in the list?

It was a remarkable achievement at the time of it's construction and remains an exceptionally beautiful complex. The reason for its existence also adds to it's uniqueness. It is truly one of the seven wonders.

It's a very magnificent building I'm telling you. I saw it myself, it's just AMAZING actually seeing what the human body can build, though it was very dirty and is almost a brownish color from dust now :]
