Unfortunately, I do not have any children but your approach to packing your kids lunch is wonderful and personal with your note. I can see you are a very loving person. That is why I am glad you have me as a contact and friend. You are great.

We make lunches the night before. Sometimes I throw a note in their bags - especially if we studied the night before for a test or something.
But - once a week - and they can pick the day, they can buy lunch from the cafeteria.

Most of the time they eat in the cafeteria, only cuz they get free lunch cuz I'm broke! If they don't like what the school is serving, I pack one for them. I cook a full breakfast for them in the morning though and we eat together as a family.

Packed their lunches (of course) ...
Reasons are varied -- from the FACT that what I packed/prepared for their school lunches was MORE Nutritious than what was served in the school to the additional fact that what I could purchase from the Grocery Store for Ingredients was of a much HIGHER QUALITY than what was served in the School Cafeteria.
This way, I could also control the amount of 'empty calories' and junk food that was coming their way -- and if there was anything I did not want on my children's plate was junk food (or them to become part of the statistics of rises in Juvenile Obesity/Diabetes).

I don't have kids but I would probably pack their lunches if I did. My mom used to write notes in my lunch when I was little and I loved it!!

Morning! I use to pack my kids lunches too, and did the notes sometimes as well...they still talk about it now! And, my daughter "hated" school food!

They like a packed lunch most of the time. My 4 year old is going to preschool for the first time, so this will be fun for him.
The notes are cute!
Good morning to you!!

I pack a lunch for the youngest but the older two do their own lunches when they feel like it or buy it from the school.
