I assume that "2 divide 8" means 2/8 and "2 divide 6" means 2/6. When comparing two fractions, the most efficient method is to give them a common denominator. And you can do that by multiplying the numerator and denominator of a fraction by the same number. In this case, the lowest common denominator would be 24.
(2/8)*(3/3) = 6/24
(2/6)*(4/4) = 8/24
We can do this because 3/3 and 4/4 are each equal to 1, so multiplying by them does not change the value. Now, 8/24 is clearly larger than 6/24, so 2/6 > 2/8.

As written 2 divide 8 is greater since 8/2 = 4 and 6/2 = 3
But I think you meant 2 divided by 8 and 2 divided by 6, and in that case, 2/6 = 1/3 and is greater than 2/8 = 1/4
The rule to remember is that the numerator being same, the smaller the denominator, the bigger the number. But remember, the denominator should be non-zero, since any division with zero gives infinity.

2/8=1/4(equivalent fraction)
2/6=1/3(equivalent fraction)
1/3 is greater than 1/4
because smaller the denominator greater will be its value.
