Well, it's interesting, isn't it? I agree that it's similar to the situation on here at the moment.

Although, no one from the BBC or ITV accused the other of being a pervert or child abuser, simply for having a different opinion.

I think this bit makes a good point. I'm not fan of the Beeb News, which has also bcome ridiculous, but i think Horrocks hit the nail on the head here:

"Mr Horrocks, writing on his BBC blog, said there was a "mass of hysterical rumour" surrounding Madeleine's disappearance. [...] "The situation that many facts are not reliably established has not stopped many of our press and broadcast colleagues from treating rumour as being newsworthy," said Mr Horrocks.

About time someone said it.

I swear some people don't read these links. How could BBC and ITV boost their sales.. not like they're newspapers.
Oh well.. is there actually any other news going on in the world then?

The BBC are jealous as ITV got the story before them. Good for ITV I say, the BBC are often living in their own PC little word and are blinkered to the real world. (Unless they're asking you to phone in for a competition)

my partner and i discussed this friday night - i like teletext whilst he reads ceefax.

he justified following the BBC reports over ITV as he said they have a duty to the public to deal in facts as we pay them in licence fees, where as the ITV channel have to 'big up' events by way of promoting their channel.

Seems he was on the ball.

I can't wait for an end to this situation, Its going on far to long now, Rumours fly around and the police keep quiet.

Send in MI5 and get it sorted once and for all.

Oh and question the parents and their gang!!

Um...isn't what they normally do over any issue that is of interest to the public? Boosts their sales, doesn't it? Makes it nice & gossipy....Look! they got you too!
Its what they do, Mr. s!
Don't you find fault with the McCanns over this as well...
As long as their merry war keeps Madeleine & the cause of missing children in the news, i won't complain, and you shouldn't either...
