If a woman can give birth when in a coma or dying, she can give birth with flus and colds. Regardless of how healthy or unhealthy a woman is, a birth is not in her control. Nature controls the birth. Even the baby has a lot of control but the mother has no control whatsoever. If I was you, I'd go to that midwife and ask her to prove her theory. Whilst she is trying to blag her way out, make sure you do plenty of coughing and sneezing over her. If she says you can't have your baby because you have a cold, you tell her that she can't work soon as she will get a cold. I wonder whose theory will be proven? LOL

Hello Jennifer
If that's true, they'll uses the hot water and towel method.
That's when if the child has not be born within 6 hours, they put the towel onto the basin full of hot water and they say to you. Look if the kids not here in 1 hour this is going up yer kilt!
Funny, how it seem to work all the time.
Take care and all the best.

thats what i have heard aswell and i had a tremendous cold, i was coughing, sneezing snotting, and even peeing on my self
everytime i would cough it was terrible
but
as soon as the cold was gone, a week later i delivered
but seeings how your 41 weeks, i wouldn't be too sure about that, i mean the baby isn't supposed to go over 42 weeks, anything longer is dangerous.
i don't want to worry you, but maybe the cold won't last right...
Hope you feel better
Meg

never heard that one before, not even from my mum who had 4 of us. your body will know when its time for baby to come along and counting the days/hours will make the wait seem longer. if this is your first, enjoy this time of peace and quiet because its the last you will get for a long time lol.
