No, it's not. It has even deserts.

"By far the largest part of Australia is desert or semi-arid. Australia is the flattest continent, has the oldest and least fertile soils, and is the driest inhabited continent. Only the south-east and south-west corners of the continent have a temperate climate. Most of the population lives along the temperate south-eastern coastline. The landscapes of the northern part of the country, with a tropical climate, consist of rainforest, woodland, grassland, mangrove swamps and desert. The climate is significantly influenced by ocean currents, including the El Niño southern oscillation, which is correlated with periodic drought, and the seasonal tropical low pressure system that produces cyclones in northern Australia."

as others said, It is generally not considered an island, but rather a continent.

you should be careful about your translation; "island" and "iceland" may be the same word in some languages, but in English "Iceland" means a specific island-nation in the north Atlantic east of Greenland, west of Norway and north of the UK.

do you mean island? Australia is large land mass, considered both a country and a continent. Technically, as it is surrounded by water it might be considered an island but due to its size you won't necessarily classified as such in all references.

Australia is not considered an island due to its size.

"But it looks like an island", you might say. Well, so do North and South America if you look at them the right way. Nobody considers them an island...

I think you mean island?

Australia is not considered an Island as it is the largest land mass of Australasia/Oceania. It is however the World's smallest continent.

The World's largest Island is Greenland which is actually smaller than Australia.
