how do hatch the egg from the guy in hearthome city on pokenon diamond coz ive got up to 7354 steps and it still hasnt hatched

Just keep walking. Some eggs take more than 10,000 steps. I'd use the bikepath for easy uninterupted walking.
If you have a pokemon with the Magma armor special (or another fire related special I can't remember) in your party your egg hatches a lot faster.

Eggs can hatch from a minimum of 500 steps to anywhere in the 10,000's so you'll just have to keep on walking. It'll end up being a Happiny & if it turns out your game is glitched and it's an unhatchable egg, just breed two Chansey with the male holding Luck Incence.

When I tried to hatch Happiny, It took my about 10,000 steps. But just get on the bike and ride back and forth, or just run. I'm sure my egg took over 8000 steps at least. Just try to hatch like that.
