I do not agree, the phrase "I Love you" is not meant for strangers. It is a serious & passionate saying you only use for someone you have known & shared something very special with. You can convey a better greeting in so many other ways.
I had a friend & we are both adult woman with families & every single time I talked to her on the phone she would always say I love you before hanging up, it made me very uncomfortable, I finally told her that when it's said over & over it looses it true feeling.

I've always felt that "I love you" is used so much now that it's diminished the true emotions it's meant to convey. I LOVE tacos. (really??) I just LOVE the color blue. (yeah???) I LOVE tennis. (hmmmm....).
The whole world is in turmoil. Nations are literally at each other's throats. Neighbors can't even get along. Saying "I love you" as a greeting would be so hypocritical. Let's save that phrase for those times when it's really true.

I love you is one of the lies most often told. We shouldn't start lying to the whole world. I firmly believe the words "I love you" should only be said in absolute sincerity. Cos if ur partner says "i love you" how u gonna know he really does and is not just saying it cos its the norm?

This will water down the meaning "love". Also, people world-wide are much more familiar with word "Hi" than "love" so communication is increased.

They realise the value of "LOVE" .. they feel to be loved .. and they are in search of the real Love all the way .. and still they have doubts about their own Love and Love of others towards them.. but they keep trying to reach near it all the way .. to see where exactly do the things fit in.

That would diminish it's meaning. "Hello" is a greeting; "I love you" is not. I only use--or ever will use--"I love you" when I mean just that.

"I love you" is suppose to show a 'special' bond between one person and another - the words are already used too much, don't destroy it anymore than it is.
