good and bad is a perspective. of course they are just meanings. nothing is real unless we make it real. its a word, its something we created. so if we call something bad, and humanity accepts that thing as 'bad', it is bad. same thing applies to something 'good'. So yes, bad and good exist as long as we think of them like we do.

Yes, there is good and there is bad. We just have to learn to identify which is which for each of us. What is good for you (like having the gift of intelligence) is probably bad for me because I'm struggling to match your wits!!!
In a way they are meanings we assign to things so that we can identify what we should associate ourselves with (good), and understand that anything bad is taboo and a definate no-no! Unfortunately, for some, the bad looks more attractive than the good, only because they know it's wrong but it is meaningless.

there is such a thing as good and bad, what we perceive as good or bad would differ from person to person and even for the same person in different spaces and time

Well, you are in a philosophical mood so early in the week.
Good or bad, I believe , is based on our perception and belief systems that are fallable. We have to assign meanings as a starting point, and then the fun that we call life starts. I believe that when we know the real truth, then we have fulfilled our place/task.

Good and bad are relative in one perspective but there are absolute good or bad like light and darkness (you may say darkness is lack of light and if so bad is absence of good).
In one way, good and bad set off each other so that we can appreciate the good better. In pitch darkness, even a small firefly looks better. A small candle is very useful in that darkness.

Yep!
There definitely is. They are there to define certain actions/words/ideas in life then put them under good or bad so that we know the difference and grow up with morals/ethics

It is human nature to put things in boxes to get some order in our chaotic universe. I believe that there is good and bad: God is good and sin is bad. With this equation there are no grey areas, God is never bad and sin is never good. Human psyche makes that we want poles that aren't as clear...
This is getting complicated... =)

Its all about perception.
We perceive things to right or wrong.
I like the Chiness concerpt of the Yin and Yang
Everthing "good" has a little "bad" in it and everything "bad" has a little "good" in it.
