That all depends...some are serious modifications, and develop some serious horsepower from only a few cubic inches. You have to respect that. Then again, some of the ones you see running around are all show, and no go.
I have found that owners of cars which are fast...really fast, try to disguise this a bit. These are the ones with nothing to prove with the looks of their cars...these guys are in it for the rush of going fast.
The ones with all the flashy stick-ons, they are the ones that need all the attention they can get.
I have an older Muscle Car, a '70 Challenger, with a 440...There are no engine call-outs on the car, it's not all decked out in stripes...it is what it is. I am sure that 30-40 years ago, the same people that are tuning rice burners would have been just as happy with a 'Cuda or a Chevelle. You just work with what you have available. The breed is the same.

Well of course everyone has there own opinion...but a majority of kids likes the cars with the big chrome rims, decals and vinyls and exaggerated paint jobs or ricers or rice cars. But as expensive as rice cars are some people don't like they way they look mostly adults.Japan is probably the greatest acceptor of rice cars. But to keep a long story short and simple.Cops,police,5-O,what every you wanna call them are unsupportive of ricers and will try anything to give you a ticket if your cars rice. Also insurance company's don't accept of it either cause of the way it will distract people and cause accidents. But overall all it doesn't matter because what would Need for Speed or Fast and the Furious with out ricers right, but I myself will say on a world wide scale that rices are indeed accepted by a majority of people.

Hmm. Toyota is the largest car manufacturer in the world. Japanese cars do not need Incentives, and cash back gimmicks to make sales unlike GM, Ford, Chrysler.
Generally people in Europe, Central and South America, Africa need small affordable, reliable cars. These needs are met by Japanese cars, and yes they are very popular worldwide. Most venues in the world people pay and have been paying upwards of $6 a gallon for over 10 years, so a Ford Excursion does not fit the needs of their local market.
Lets see GM and Ford are struggling, Chrysler is being sold at a huge loss to Ceribus.
Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Subaru, Suzuki, etc are all expanding yet the domestics are closing plants to remain profitable. So if anything the rest of the world does not accept or like the fabtrash that US companies produce.

Because they are a joke compared to the Muscle cars of the 60s and 70s.
Bring it out on the road against my Mustang Fastback. You wont stand a chance.

Its just the latest fad in "boy racers" for more than 60 years guys have been into doing their cars up, customizing , modifying call it what you want, the fact that most cars certainly in Europe are now of Asian origin it makes sence that we now have a world full of these cars as they are readily available to everyone.
I have one myself, (Toyota Celica GT4), but personally I prefer my 302 V8 1968 Mustang.
I like a few of them, its the muppets that drive them I dont like

they are comical. most of us laugh at them. They have delusions of grandeur with all their gaudy (and cheap looking) add-ons and then their lawn-mower engines. LOL
