You should first check Windows Security Centre if you are using WIndows XP. Under the firewall section, check whether the system is using a firewall software or the default firewall, which is in this case, Windows Firewall.
For other Windows, you can check via Control Panel > Add or Remove Program > browse through the list > spot the firewall program installed.
For a list of firewall program, you can search the internet at www.download.com or simply type the name of the software in Google.
Tell me if I missed something.

If you are using XP or Vista you have a firewall installed by default. You should be able to spot a third party fire wall like Zone Alarm of something from Norton/McAfee from the program list.
Do you mean this, or do you mean find out if a firewall is enabled? If this, then go to control panel>security centre, and it will tell you if you have one active.

If it is Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Vista then it will have a Windows firewall installed (which is turned on by default). In addition you may have other security programs which provide a firewall.

If you have XP look in the Control Panel under Security. You could also try All Programs at the Start Menu to see if one is listed.
