Yes, when my kids were away for a few days with the absent parent I actually thought I'd gone deaf. It was so quiet, you could feel the silence. Didn't last long enough though.

By definition silence has no sound. If it did it would not be silence. What you hear when there is no external sound is the sound of your own internal systems. Is that beautiful? If there is no internal sound then you're probably dead.

Yes I do! However, where I live the weekends are for mowing, strimming, all kinds of ghaaastly carpentry and DIY.Also neighbours fights in the wee small hours with lots of charming language and to top it all a police raid next door because they had a cannabis farm in there! Hey ho. I only moved here a year ago, a quiet little side road near the sea. WRONG. Reach for cd player and headphones with kenny g on it and dream lol

And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more.
People talking without speaking,
People hearing without listening,
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence.

Fools said i,you do not know
Silence like a cancer grows.
Hear my words that I might teach you,
Take my arms that I might reach you.
But my words like silent raindrops fell,
And echoed
In the wells of silence

oh shut up!!!lol, jus'kidding.having a very chatty 4 year old i do sometimes think silence is bliss!!!but too much is dull.also i have never expirienced pure silence, you can always hear something, birds, distant cars etc.i guess you would need to be sealed in a sound proof room to expirience real silence and then you would still hear your heart beat etc!!life is noisy!
