yes if your husband qualifies with a medical condition that warrants it,he will have to put a sick note in to the social security office (i think that is where it has to go),then in time he will have to fill in a questionare about his illness and they will either decide to give him incapacity benefit or he will be asked to go and see one of their doctors for that doctor to decide whether he can have the benefit.

If your husband is incapacitated then your earnings dont count, you'r husband is the one claiming.
