Yes I would give up all the money in the world and all my possessions for my children.
Ironically this did happen to me. I divorced my husband who was a multi-multi-millionaire. He was a sadistic, abusive person. I knew that by using my legal rights to the money, property, and possessions that we owned he would abuse the children emotionally.
To me "giving" up my rights I would "lose" all of the monetary, and material possessions I was entitled too.
However I "gained", as in exchange he gave up his rights to have any custody of them. This was 29 years ago. I "gained" my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
You might have wanted a more philosophical answer. But this question hit me like a ton of bricks as it is extremely personal to me. After all it is in the "Humanities" category too. I believe I did the Humanitarian thing.
Have a great day/evening to you too.

The only thing that comes to mine would be my son. I would give my life for him if it meant saving his. I don't think you can lose when you are giving for something that means that much to you. You may lose the battle but it wasn't because of giving. The gaining is both the everything that you put into it, and hopefully the outcome you were looking for.

Fueled by courage, yes, why not. Ideally giving one's life would mean gaining a new life - the best. Giving to be honored or showered with praises is losing. On the otherhand it is gaining when it involves sacrifices and willingly out of love.

I would give everything I have for either of these 2 things. I would give everything I have to live in a fantasy world but I would give thousand times more to get into the heart of Elenik.

Yes indeed, if it will be the life of my wife or daughter that is at stake. I will give everything so long as to gain back the life of my loved ones.
Giving all you've got means losing when your purpose is not achieved. It means gaining if your purpose was greatly achieved!

Nostradamus' predictions have been very imprecise and would desire to be taken hundreds of numerous innovations. i think of of he grew to strengthen into into an entire fool that grew to strengthen into into out of his concepts. If somebody have been to make the comparable predictions interior the reducing-part each and every physique ought to think of of they're nuts. for this reason Nostradamus grew to strengthen into into friggin nuts in basic terms merely like the human beings who think of of a mystical being created this planet. Or how some guy that cut up an entire see with yet greater effective magic. i think of of the fictional e book even mentions giants and adult adult males who lived 900 years. So your answer is not any the worldwide isnt going to end in 2012. no greater effective helpful than a hippie looking guy is going to return out of the sky and save people who kissed his ***.

Even in a idealistic & honestly caring way, like to give up everything for peace in the world, I'd be hard put to say yes. Even if it were possible, I think I still have a great deal to contribute in my own environment, & with my friends.
Now, to "GET." I don't see this as a question about sacrificing for the life of someone I love, but to get a THING.
No, never. Everything I have is far too valuable to give in order to get ONE thing.

independence
it is the great blessing
our countrymen sacrified their lives for getting independence
5 millions people sacrified their lives in a single day for what
to get independence and to have a country where they or their next generation live independently
we know our forefathers's lives have not gone waste because we got a most valuable thing that is independence which we got 60 years back
so it is no losing but gaining .
have a great evening

I need 5 more points to reach 1000, but and I would give everything to get there. It means SOOOOO much to me!!! Along with some cool air in summer, warmth in winter, good food, a loving partner, red sunsets caused by clean clouds not pollution, foggy mornings, etc. But to give EVERYTHING? I guess that would mean giving up my life, so I think I would need more life to replace that.
