Men seem to be under the thumb a lot these days and seem scared of their women.

Not scared so much as wary of getting nagged. Besides, there's something more to this question than meets the eye.

My wife doesn't poison my mind. She spends a fair amount of time "reminding" me of things I said I'd do and haven't, but she never tells me what to think or feel.

This is a bit strange but with my partner it tends to be the other way around! lol. Well apart from the poisoning of minds and that. It's me that says can you clean this or why did you do that and reminding her of some of the stupid things she has done. Wll she does it too but not as much. Um have I answered this question? I'm not sure :-)

It all depends on your past experience as to how you will percieve a man. On the contrary it seems to me thats what you are experiencing at the moment if this trully is the case then get out of your comfortable spot ...go out there and I am sure you will find some prick who doesnt listen.....if you are looking for a "strong man"
But what you are descibring there is ---why men can be manipulated.

not all men,

I think they tell their friends it's the women, because they don't have the guts to tell their mate, they want to spend time with their partners
