Just buy a new one. You may have obtained an imitation.

Is it genuine Sony or is it an illegally branded non-sony one?

I've heard of some USB drives that claim to be huge drives but do not really have very much memory in them at all. They are fine with a few small files but fail to store large files correctly.

If this is what yours is doing, it may be illegal or it may be broken.

If you bought it from a genuine Sony supplier, take it back.

If you bought it from some very dodgy source then you've probably got a bit of something that is best put in the trash.

32Gb is a *huge* flash drive. Did you mean 32Gb or did you mean 32Mb? If you meant 32Gb it is very likely that it is not genuine and not able to work at all.

If you meant 32Mb, it's old and very small. Throw it away and buy a new one.

try formatting it
full format not quick format
if that doesn't work try formatting it to a different file system (fat32==>ntfs)
