From today's Mirror - (cheers Shambo, not to piggyback off your question!)
"Kate even joked that Madeleine is probably giving her kidnapper a taste of her forceful character.
She said: "Madeleine is such a sociable child, so funny and engaging.
"She has a lot of personality. Her name actually means 'tower of strength'.
"She hated it when we called her Maddie. She'd say 'My name is Madeleine' with an indignant look.
"I bet she's giving whoever she's with her tuppence worth."

EDIT - If Kate feels the time is right to make jokes about Madeleine (which I NEVER do, only about the parents) then I sure as hell have the right to say what I like about these pathetic two.

kay_sojaden - The mirror is quoting from Kate McCann. Do you see the inverted comments??? That means someone is 'quoting' someone. Geez Kay, I can't be explaining the basics of the English language to everyone who doesn't understand it.

Brunelscooby - But using your logic, then everything they say can be explained away whereas everything I say is 'morally wrong'. what a convenient escape mechanism for the McCanns.

Misty Blue - I suggest you explain yourself before making random accusations. Particularly as I have no idea what you are on about.

Do you believe everything you read in The Mirror?
The fact of the matter is this. I have seen many quotes here from many sources, as I'm sure you have too, and I don't instantly take them as gospel truth. This is basic common sense.
EDIT: Dave, I had also thought you had more sense than to resort to such insults. Looking at my posts, you can see I am hardly inarticulate, so your comment about my use of English is meaningless really. Anyone who can read can see it is untrue.

Hello Dave, as Papa Lazarou would say.
I think you have raised some good points in the past, but this is just getting beyond ridiculous now. You must have heard of people using humour to cope and to try and stay sane under horrendous circumstances?
I can't help feeling that Kate McCann will never be able to do anything right, in your eyes, until the day she dies. I get the distinct impression that had this article portayed her as wailing and howling in the anguish of losing her first born - which, in all likelihood, she IS doing in private - you would have found a million things about that to coldly criticise. If that had been the case, I suspect we'd have seen another long non-question from you, making some spiteful remark how Kate wants to be an actress, before asking what use she is to the twins while drowning in her own guilt and agony.
The woman is trying to keep her head above water in this awful situation and it is most likely that she is trying to deal with the enormity of it all by staying positive. Can you imagine what it must feel like to have to accept the alternative? That your little girl is DEAD?

We already understand she did no longer seek. We already understand that interior of days she had the "potential" to flow walking, sunbathe, get her highlights completed, flow outfits procuring in Lagos, unload the twins in the creche whilst she and her husband went to Fatima ( to do a image-op, a ten hour around-holiday), then extra outfits procuring then jetting off to Madrid, Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome and Marrakesh. all of us understand the couple had the "potential" to coach attorneys in the united kingdom and initiate an internet blog interior of a few days of the disappearance yet no longer the "potential" to take care of their final babies. you're only protecting the glaring - the McCanns are awful mum and dad. yet why can we obsess approximately those awful mum and dad in specific? The McCanns deserve not extra scrutiny than different mum and dad who overlook and/or abuse their babies. Why are we no longer speaking approximately all the different rotten mum and dad available in the worldwide, and there are lots?

If thats true its awful. Its kind of like shes talking about a fantasy figure.
I get the impression that Kate doesnt have natural maternal instincts. Apart from leaving 3 youngsters alone. How can she leave her twins in a creche days after her daughter was supposedly snatched? or worse, leave the country they are in without them. I would never have let them leave my side for a second for fear it would happen again.

Give it a rest. You are beyond help.
Incidentally, the most hilarious thing about your sad little rant at Kay was that when lecturing her on the correct use of English, you used the non-existent phrase ''inverted comments''. Oops. You also quoted with one inverted comma as opposed to two.
Go back to school, will you?
Funny how you never address the people who correct you.

I would wonder why she is saying that when she was quoted as saying at the weekend that they are now concentrating on finding out how Maddy died rather than finding out where she is or who has her? How she can joke about such a thing I will never know, but then I have to confess that I have never understood why they have acted the way they have from day one!

I think a number of people are concerned with your questions all,of which seem to concentrate solely on the Mcanns.
Perhaps you could tell us why you are obsessed with this particular subject and nothing else.
We all hope and pray that this poor little girl is found soon surely that's all that matters.

Since the whole story broke I have been afraid to go on holiday with my son. When talking about it with my partner we joked 'whoever takes our son would bring him back after half an hour'.
Doesn't make me any less of a parent to make light of a genuine concern - its a coping mechanism.
I agree with many of your posts Dave but not this one I'm afraid - Kate is remembering her daughters character and hoping for the best.

As I have said in a previous question, she is grieving, we all say daft things. I know this isnt the same situation whatsoever but my dad had a head injury a few weeks ago, wont be the same man anymore, its him bit not the Dad I know, as his speech adn language has been affected as was some of his memory. I made a joke (burst into tears after it) but people say and do the strangest things when grieving. Who are we to say whats right and wrong if we havent been in that situation? Why is using defence mechanisms so bad?
Dave I didnt say your replies were morally wrong, I quite enjoy debating some of these questions that you post. But thats all it is is a debate not a personal attack. I dont agre with alot of what you say which is why I dont answer them all. I just like to put forward what IU think to be a good argument. Isnt that why we are all on this? Idef think that what they did was neglectful, and there are a few things untoward but not all can be explained. Not at all.
Def of debate...."argue with one another; "We debated the question of abortion"; "John debated Mary"
consider: think about carefully; weigh; "They considered the possibility of a strike"; "Turn the proposal over in your mind"
argument: a discussion in which reasons are advanced for and against some proposition or proposal; "the argument over foreign aid goes on and on"
discuss the pros and cons of an issue
the formal presentation of and opposition to a stated proposition (usually followed by a vote)
argue: have an argument about something "

Perhaps she simply cannot bear to think about the alternative. Have you ever tried accepting the probability of your child being dead?
