I've done all the letter, got a letter back from HSBC saying they are going to refund me £750.

I got this letter on 27th July, posted the acceptance slip back by special delivery, checked online to make sure they received the letter etc.

On the slip it said it can take up to 14 working days to refund the money into my account, this is nearly up.

Did anyone else have to wait the full 14 working days or wait more than etc?

Many thanks in advance x

Hope they haven't stopped this! My letter said that if i signed the slip then i will have it in my bank account within 14 working days.

I know this is Thursday week but i'm always the person who gets f****d about with things like this!!! lol

Although there is currently a hold on bank charge claims, because the bank made you the offer before this took effect, they still have to honour it (this was one of the conditions on which the hold was granted).

If you still have an active account with HSBC, they should transfer it into it.

However, if your account is closed, they need to write you a cheque. Unfortunately, I know from experience that they aren't very good at sticking to timescales for this!

Phone them up and nag them, using the number on the bottom of the offer letter. I had to do it a couple of times, and it took about 3 weeks from sending back the acceptance form before I received the cheque.

Just keep on at them, and you will get it!

Firstly, lucky you for getting them to refund your charges!

If you received the letter on 27 July & posted the acceptance slip back straightaway, the earliest they'll have received it is 28 July which was a Saturday. That means it won't be classed as being received until Monday 30 July, which is day 1, so today is day 11 and you should receive your money by Thursday this week.

Why don't you just ring them and ask them?

PS: EDIT, to Hibee - new cases have been suspended but any that are already in the pipeline will be resolved.

i have been waiting 2 months having gone through the same procedure.
I am afraid that special delivery only proves you sent a package - it does not prove its contents. HSBC said after they signed it the envelope was empty. That delayed it by 3 weeks. So i faxed the acceptance slip which they denied receiving, so i took a further copy of the acceptance slip and with a friend with a video camera i filmed handing it over to a cashier in a branch.
The bank now say the acceptance is out of time and had to be returned within 14 days - so i am now left suing them - which is what i am doing.
lessons learnt so far - 1. whatever they say verbally, unless it is recorded, forget relying on it. 2. Hand deliver all vital correspondence to their branches with a witness and time stamped video. 3 DO NOT TRUST THEM

I did my claim through Nat West and although it took a bit of discussion, it ended up being a 'good will gesture' payment and I got money back within the time they specified.

Don't let them ignore you and well done for getting in there in time.

I thought they had suspended refunds, pending the result of a court case in November?

as long as you know, that once they refund you the charges, they may close the bank account.

Chase them up
