Alright, so I was watching the meteor shower all night and I saw a good amount of normal meteors, the ones that just look like shooting stars. Although, there were 3 different times when I saw something that I have never seen before. I KNOW that my mind wasn't playing tricks on me. It looked like a flock of geese flying -almost floating- in the shape of a V like geese usually fly. I followed these floating "geese" a lot farther than the normal meteors, and also, they seemed closer. Does anybody have an explanation for what I saw, besides 1) They were geese, or 2) I'm nuts...?

1 really cool one lasted a while and had a broken choppy trail.
(sounds a bit like your geese, BUT FASTER than geese)

It was one that skipped on the atmosphere like a flat pebble on a lake. They are my favs

maybe they break up on impact and the remais trail behind causing a V
(I never really saw a distinct V though)

I'm guessing they were probably brighter too? Probably just an extra-big meteor that broke up into pieces as it entered the atmosphere--they go farther because there's a lot more to burn up and it takes longer. Lucky you--I didn't see anything near that big. I've seen meteors like that before, and they do seem to "float" or go a lot more slowly than a normal meteor--but I didn't see any tonight!
