Don't be bummed, it's not exactly the 4th of July. I'm in the Mountains in Souther California and clear sky. There have been sporatic meteors, none for a few mins, then a few in a min. A few bright sparkers but not a lot. Mostly little ones. I'm going back out to watch for more.

I just got back inside--it's a little hazy but clear here and you're not missing much. Nothing near the 1-2 meteors a minute I heard predicted. I only saw about 3 Perseids to every 1 random meteor. More like a meteor trickle than a meteor shower.

I saw about 3 each hour for 5 hours (Utah). I also saw some crazy looking ones that i actually asked a question about on this site because i dont know what kind it was. It looked like a V-formation of geese floating across the sky. Crazy.

Austin TX.

get away from the city. Light are terrible for the view.

I thought it was hazy here too.

I couldn't see them from the city so I went to the country for 2 hours.

Then I saw about 40 of them. still had horizon light blocking most of my view.

1 really cool one lasted a while and had a broken choppy trail.
(my favs. it was one that skipped on the atmosphere like a flat pebble on a lake)

and still disappointed

It's clear here, but too bright. I did see a couple. I'm disappointed too! Maybe next year....
