Do you think less of Americans because we elected George W Bush not once, but twice? Did it change your opinion of what Americans believe. If so, was it a positive or negative change?

Ok let me clear this point up. I'm of the "no use crying over spilled milk" opinion of the first GWB election. I know he lost the popular vote. I'm pretty sure something not right went on in the state where his brother just happened to be governer. History is written by the winners so all history books will say we elected him twice. After all that and the train wreck that was his first presidency we elected him again, however.

GW Bush was actually only elected once, not twice. We all know what happened the first time.
I don't think less of all Americans per se, no. But GWB did a lot to tarnish the US' image abroad. And it is definately having a negative effect on the US and the rest of the world. Contrary to popular belief, the world needs the US and also contrary to popular (US) belief, the US needs the world even more than vice versa.
I was very disappointed with the US people for re-electing such an idiot but I also understand the propaganda that was behind it. Most countries in the world have elected an idiot at some stage, so blaming the American people for it is useless. Politicians lie and people believe them because they want to believe them, then the very opposite happens from what the electorate hoped would.
Lets hope you guys get someone better to vote for in the next elections. For your sakes and the sake of the world... :)

No. We in the Philippines elected someone who eventually made himself a dictator. And elected a movie star who was eventually accused of plunder. Worse, we elected senators endorsed by this accused person.

It is these same Filipinos who elected ( but this is also debated) the sitting president who everybody has been trying to remove from office.

I think most people can draw a distinction between an American president and the American population that gave him eight years in power but I do find it hard to understand why Bush is considered a great, or even a likable, man.

It made no difference to me who you elected President. They are replaceable every 4 years. The office of the President is important, the person who is the President is meaningless.

In the 2000 elections, those who voted for G.W. Bullshit were right-He pledged to withdraw troops from the Balkans (US troops are there to look for freedom fighters, such as Dr. Karadzic and General Mladic, and bring them to injustice-yes, injustice-not justice).
in 2004 too, maybe people voted for him again in order to avoid having Scurry (Kerry), God forbid, as president.
And the amazing thing is, that both Bullshit and Scurry are descendants of Dracula (Vlad the Impaler), and thus, they are descendants of Genghis Khan too.

NO. I do not judge Americans as a whole because as a Canadian, I do not want to be judged by other Canadians decisions.
