They would actually so confidently advertise it as such, a hamburger that costs you six dollars.

Well you know it is fast food so people generally don't expect to spend that much.

The six dollar burger at carls is not sold for six dollars, its supposed to be worth six dollars if you got it at a traditional sit down place. I think carls sells it for $4.75. Below is from Wiki:
Featured food items include the Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger and the Six Dollar Burger, so called because it is claimed to be of the same quality of a burger one would pay six dollars for in a sit-down restaurant.

Why would they charge less than $6 for the Six Dollar burger? That just doesn't make sense. I guess it's so that customers would feel they were getting a good deal. I doubt they'll ever charge over $6 like $7 though. That would make even less sense.

It makes me so angry that I want to invent the seven dollar

Dude have you ever tasted the six dollar burger? It's the

The only justification they need is the sales figures! If a product is selling well, they will continue to offer it.

It's simple supply and demand. Since a group of people continues to buy it at that price, they are able to make money with it at that price.
