Any place has to be better than Hooters!! My husband and I had wings there and the service was exceptional. But then we went to the bar area where people were watching the NASCAR race (which we had money riding on). With 10 LAPS TO GO, a bartender changed the channel!!! When someone pointed out that a bunch of people were watching it (as if they didn't see!?), they couldn't figure out how to work the TV to change it back!!! Everyone watching was surprisingly patient but the bar staff got sh**ty and kept saying "WE'RE WORKING ON IT!!" And its not like there aren't 10 TVs in that area so everyone can watch their sport. S**t happens but there's no excuse for getting snotty with patrons who had been watching and buying drinks for hours!! The options in Vegas are endless....spend your $ elsewhere!

I think the Sports Book at Ceasar's is impressive; if you are watching games and also the one at the Mirage is quite good, if you are drinking. Plenty of bars next to it.
If you want a great local sports book and bar, with fabulously friendly cocktail waitresses, try the Santa Fe Station. It's north of the strip on (I think) Hiway 95 connection. It's a very friendly place where lots of locals hang out.
