Because there is no English St George's Day celebration parade in London.

They can have a celebration parade if the Irish pay for it and it does not inconvenience me

No way should it be abolished !!!The Irish celebrate St Patricks Day all over the world. If there is no parade for St Georges Day that is not the fault of the Irish. If nothing else it's an excuse to hit the pub and listen to U2 tunes all day...Perfect!!!

No. Should your neighbour not have a party because you're not having one? It's not the Irish' fault that the English don't celebrate St. George's day.

And why shouldn't we celebrate St. George's day? If nothing else it's a day off work and a booze-up, and it may give us some national pride.

I'm in Northern Ireland and would be delighted if George's day was celebrated as well as Paddy's day. Then I would get both bank holidays off work. Go for it. In the words of the Beastie Boys : ' Fight for your right to paaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrty'
