I just applied some vinyl decals to my car today, but a there are a couple of air bubbles in them. The person I bought them from said they would go away on their own in a week or two. Will the air bubbles go away? Thanks. :)

I'm pretty sure you gotta work those air bubbles out of there yourself. if you let them be whats sposed to magically take them out of there?

No you will have to cut/poke decal and get the air out.

Let me give you a great tip for next time you install decals.. We use this on race cars.

Get you a spary bottle.. Fiill it with water and a couple drops of dish washing soap.

Peel backing off the decal and spray it with your water/soap unit its fully soaked.

Now spray down a large spot on car where you want to put it.

Place decal on car.. Being its wet and slick you can move decal around to get it just right..

Once your happy with it.. Then you take a bank / atm card, credit card, etc or the back of a comb, place in in the center of the decal and press down and drag tto the side.. Put back in middle and drag to other side, back in middle, and drag to the top, then the bottom..

If theres water under decal, then air can't be.. The water will push out from under the decal when you do the last step and leave you with a stuck decal that don't have air bubbles under it.

I really doubt it. The bubbles should not be there, as you know. Now that the decal is on there, you will have to take a new single sided razor blade and make a small slit in the decal and then press out the air, so the decal can stick to the surface. The slit will allow the trapped air to escape. good luck and be careful

How can there be bubbles if you removed the decal? I assume there's a layer of goo and plastic left that has trapped the air bubbles. Try applying some vaseline to what's left of the decal - it should dissolve the adhesive and you can wipe it all off with a cloth, then wash with soapy water.

Nope, those bubbles won't go away. Usually when you're applying the vinyl you got to put some pressure on it as you work your way down. It sometimes is a hassle but it's well worth it. I've seen guys use a flat piece of plastic (like a plastic comb) to flatten those air spaces. It works most of the time.

If the bubbles don't go away in a couple days just pop them with a pin. Good luck!
