You might have to wait a while for it to start charging if you've let it discharge a lot.

Also you might want to try taking the battery out of the computer and then putting it back in again (do this while the computer is unplugged) and it might charge then.

Also good to check that the computer is actually getting power from the adapter, some laptops have a light for power input (all Toshiba laptops do that I know of) and you can also use the OS or vendor supplied utilities to find out if power is actually reaching your computer.

If you've changed a few settings to increase performance on AC power you may have increased the power use of the computer enough that there isn't anything left over to charge but you typically have to flog the processor and use the optical drive to do that.

If waiting or taking the battery out and putting it back in again don't work and it's still under warranty I'd send it in for servicing.

check ur battery charging setting. the charging on battery will only start when the power level is below than perticular percentage (80%) or like that. So change this percentage to higher than current power level of ur battery.

The battery may be charged. Right click your desktop and select 'Properties', then 'Screensaver' and at the bottom is a 'Power' options box, click 'Properties' and look at the actions you have set for running on batteries, and the levels at which the alarm goes off.
