Simple random sample.

Simple is because it is just randomly selecting objects from a sample space. There isn't such a thing as a complex random sample. There are many different sampling methods, but a simple random sample is the easiest to use. A good example would be a random number generator on a calculator. (Yes I know that computers have pseudo-random number generators, but this is a good example for the concept) If you have a random integer displayed between 1 and 10, then what ever numbers are displays are a srs of the integers between 1 and 10.

An SRS stands for a simple random sample. It's size n consists of n individuals from the population chosen in such a way that every set of n individuals has an equal chance to be the same actually selected! =) Hope it helps.
