Is it for better or for worse?

When I first started on Answers while it was in Beta (January 2006), I was grieving for My Steve, who had committed suicide a month before. So I think it saved what little sanity I had, bringing me out of my self-pity and thinking about other people and their problems instead of constantly dwelling on my own.

That was just the start. Then I developed on-line friendships using 360 to contact people I liked on Answers, including the undisputed king at that time, Richard. So later, when Yahoo was planning the first birthday party, I was included and got to meet Richard and lots of other people I already liked from knowing them on-line.

Then not long after that, I realized that on a fixed income, I could not stay in expensive Boulder Creek, California, but had to move somewhere with a reasonable cost of living. I put a blog on my 360 asking where people would recommend. Richard and several others all said "Come to St. Louis," although in fact Richard lives a couple of hours away. I came to St. Louis, and I like it very much. I'm paying less than half the rent I was paying in California, have a larger, nicer apartment and Air Conditioning!!!

There's more, such as making friends with Richard's son and future daughter-in-law, but you get the idea. Changed my life completely, and very possibly saved it.

I am pretty low-tech I have only been using the Internet for about a year and a half now. I have never owned a computer. YA is the first site I have visited on a regular basis. I absolutely love it!!! I have gotten kind of upset about getting kicked off 3 times, but the good outweighs the bad. I love the P&Sers they makwe me laugh outloud, and that is great. None of my peers are into YA and they think I am lame. I don't care I am sticking with it.

Useful enhancement / enrichment of life, if I might say so...

The "essence" of various ethereal spirits are interacting safely & ethically here, oblivious to external form, location, time...all over and across the globe, from the private spaces of individual freedom!

That success, I attribute wholheartedly, to the superhuman dedication of the YAT! (Yahoo! Answers Team). It is basically their effort, which has afforded participants, the opportunity to come out of their private world and share the very best of their thoughts, on a global forum, with perfect impunity. In fact, this is one of the pioneering, peaceful steps (initiative), towards bringing about global harmony!

For better. Whenever I have questions in Math that I can't answer, I ask Yahoo Answers. That way, I understand and build a concept in my math problem.

It has allowed me to meet some nice people, and a few that are not so nice. And one person that I would love to know a lot better because since I met her I smile a lot more than usual.
