mom + 7 = answer

If you left a part out, just write out the equivalent equation for it and solve.

you are x now so
your mother is 4x years now
in seven years you will be x+7
and your mother will be 4x+7 years old
Now I need one more piece of info to figure it out.
either you or your mother's age now or in the future.
then set it up as an equation with the applicable statement.

If your age is x,then your mom's would be 4x.
7 years later,
your age=x+7
mom's age=4x+7
Now we can't go further without more information.

M = 4X
