When I put in a new boiler I had to beg the guys to haul mine out of the basement and take it away. The dump was on the way to their shop so they agreed.

Nothing. Scrap iron is a glut on the market; with some hunting, you will find someone to take it off your hands without requiring payment to do so -- if you deliver it.

That's no way to talk about your girlfriend. But really if it's copper quite a lot although that has to be offset against transport costs.
