It's a Liger. If it's reversed - Father tiger and mother lion, it's called a Tigon. There are several other variations - check Google for more info. NONE of this would ever happen in nature. It only comes from human interference. All for money. Nothing like a freak show to make a quick buck. It's the animals who pay the heavy price.

Liger. Tigon. Not sure if thats right in spelling but something like that, the reason why is tigers and lions can breed with each other because of how closly relate they are. And it's happened before. Type in hybrid cats on the internet. The first letter of the name is eaither a T or a L based on which one it's more closly related too.

As others have posted, you will end up with a liger. They are born sterile, a consequence of cross breeding so they can't reproduce on their own.
They are however, cool animals, and can grow to be quite large.

A liger.
Tigons are the opposite of ligers and have a tiger father and lioness mother. They may also be referred to as tiglons or tions.
Good one!
