We actually don't have an Independence day of our own as we have always been independent. We have also quite rightly given most of our former 'colonial' possessions their independence but unfortunately have caused a few problems in the process. Have a great day, yours is a great country, with a fantastic culture and a heritage to be proud of.

Brotherhood is the only thank you to maintain unity in the worldwide. India is the only united states of america with maximum different way of existence. that is residing house for Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Parsis, and distinctive sects of Hindus. as quickly as we communicate approximately religious freedom, we are no longer speaking approximately progression, we are speaking approximately turning out to be rifts. enable each and every Indian have the sensation of Indian-ness regardless of religion, caste, way of existence, and so on. And please do no longer make generalized concepts in line with postings on some boards. in case you had long previous in the path of the entire communicate board you could have understood the authencity of the posting there. all the excellent... :-)

I grew up in the UK. We don't have an independence day.
My forefathers, however, are from HK. Independence from UK was achieved on the 7th of July; which is a good thing considering it closes one of the ugliest chapters in British imperialism.
I'm proud for the UK and HK. I also think other HK Chinese feel it was a good thing.

England has no independence day. Instead we remain chained to Europe, for good or ill.
