Interesting question. Despite Amare claiming the other day that the team was built around him (nice ego there Amare) it IS Steve who, as Horry stated, is the head of the snake.
This team is a perfect team for Nash's strengths. I don't think they would be garbage because there are some very talented players Marion (my favorite), Bell, Barbosa, Amare and Diaw.
But I don't know that they would be in the echelon of the Mavs and Spurs either. So, yes, they would win in the regular season and struggle in the playoffs.

large element. To the above poster, in case you think of that Marion and Amare are not effective without Nash, you have under no circumstances considered their numbers without Nash. The Suns lost that extend of video games because of the fact the two Nash and Diaw, 2 key facilitators which characterize a million/3 of their popular lineup, have been out. PLUS take the indisputable fact that the dominant ball handler grew to become into not dealing with the offense. Shawn Marion neglected 2 video games, and the Suns lost to Philly, arguably the worst team interior the league. by utilising this assessment, Marion could be MVP, no? I agree, claiming that the Suns lose extra video games without Nash is the indicator to a MVP award is a logical fallacy.

I'm not even sure the Suns can make it to the playoffs in the West without Steve Nash!
The "Engine of the Suns" is Amare Stoudamire, I would describe Nash as the key that turns on the ignition.
I say they get a just above .500 record, and gets the seventh or eighth seed, and gets eliminated in the first round of the playoffs.

Nash is a great player because of the players who play with him. He has never played for a bad team. If you look at the team he played for a few years back, the Dallas Mavericks, you will notice that every year he played, the team was playoff material. Nash only manages his assists and points due to the players around him. Dont get me wrong, he is a GOOD player, but he is only back to back mvp because the lack of critizism he faces from viewers. The man is no different than Jason Kidd, or any other veteran point guards.

The Suns would be a good team in the regular season and win around fifty games. They would make the playoffs but they wouldn't get past the Spurs or the Mavericks. Thats the situation right now though.

i think the suns would still be alright because barbosa is outstanding and is one of the fastest players in the NBA. But I dont think the Suns would be a championship calaber team without Nash.

they will become a 10th to 12th team in the west.. even if they still have amare, diaw, marion, barbosa etc... they still need a pg like nash to run their offense.. just take a look the suns record when nash isn't playing.. also they were 29 - 53 prior to nash arrival in 2004 (even if they have joe johnson, marion, stoudemire and barbosa then)..

They would be wack. Right now, they only have two guys that can create their own shot (Amare and Boris) and for a team this good that's a problem. They probably would the playoffs, but they wouldn't do much.

Not very. Nash is a special player. Dallas (Mark Cuban) was a world-class dummass for letting him go in favor of keeping Dirk.
