I get that too sometimes. I hate being the one to ring the doorbell. It has to be someone else, because then it's more like, "Okay. They're not talking to me. They're talking to the person who rang the doorbell."

I think it's just that you're introvert, meaning you're not really a person that easily socializes with others. You like to be the person that has the second word, but never the first.

I guess what I said makes sense, lol.

All ringing doorbells? All of the time? Have you always been afraid of them? Do you know what makes you fearful? Would you rather not see anyone? Do you have a doorbell? If so, why? You don't have to have one, you know. They are optional. If you don't want to hear your doorbell ringing, you could get rid of it. Also, if your doorbell rings and you don't want to see anyone, you don't have to answer it. Really. It's your house. No one has the right to require you to answer the ring of a bell, do they?

If you are concerned about your fear, perhaps it would be in your best interest to consult a psychologist.

It might be that you just might be shy. It may also be something more serious. There may have been an incident in your childhood that you made you afraid of doorbells. If you think , this is the case, I suggest you see a psychologist to help you overcome your fear of doorbells.

Is there anything else going on? My cousin had this problem also, would go nuts and hide if the doorbell rang. Later I found out that he was on drugs, and he also had a warrant for his arrest.........one of those doorbells was his ride to jail :)
