I built a brand new computer for a client. Before I sending the computer to the client, everything worked.

Client is now complaining his monitor is not detecting any signal once he power up his computer. He has a 19' LCD screen, using a VGA connection running directly to the video card.

Bad connection probably. You may have to bring a spare VGA cable and a small (14 inch?) monitor to test the PC.

since you said that before sending it to the client, the pc is working fine, right? so its possible that there is mishandling on the LCD or the CPU where the video card is during the shipping or delivering... there are many possiblities for this..

what you can do is try the pc with a different monitor.. any monitor will do as long as its compatible with the port on the video card.. if it worked, then you have a bad LCD and needs replacement or repair..
if still after testing another monitor, it did not work, you might want to test another video card if you can.. basically just to check if it's a bad LCD or video card..

the damage can be also on the port, cable of the LCD since you said there's no signal seen on the LCD. you can check the pins on the ports because if there are bent pins, is possible that you won't get any signal.. :)

Chances are it's the card, assuming his monitor is plugged in, and your client didn't attempt to plug the monitor into the joystick port!

If I were you, I would get over to your client's house/business in a hurry with a spare card, and to be sure, a spare monitor, both of which you know for a fact are working.

Could be the port for which the card is operating has burnt. Depending on which port your using some have a precaution for this I would test a video ccard of the same port in it ( If it i agp then use a different agp card, or for pci and PCI-E and do the same.) Also test the video card that was in it at the time on another computer.
