It's not necessarily an illusion, but it is subjective and there is no universal way to do it. Thinking that we can somehow measure our worth against someone elses is the illusion.

Innate worth is not entirely subjective. It is not an illusion unless you put a dollar value on it. If you are grown and reasonably happy (like the great majority of people in the world are) then it is a given you have been unconditionally loved in your life. NO?! Well you were loved by and had near infinite value to, your mother as a wee baby and child. That is an important factor in your current happiness. In fact if you are unhappy it is probably due to having grown and ceased being approved of by your mother (and hopefully father) or another human or humans.
You grew up being loved; to lose that love is depressing. It is a mark of your continuing worth how much you remember this love and so continue to love yourself and in response love others. This worth has no dollar value but a measure of it is in how happy you are with yourself and others. It is truly an innate worth in this sense. It is a dynamic worth, necessary to be continuously nurtured, necessary for continuing life, if the meaning of life is that life itself.
Good luck in discovering your true innate worth (it requires introspection), good health, peace and love!

Innate value is subjective. It's all based on how humans perceive each other.
The universe, extrinsically, is meaningless. Only we can create meaning and give it an intrinsic purpose, and all of our purposes are subjective because they are a perception of reality, not reality itself.
But there are some ways to agree on the innate value of things. Most humans can settle on larger concepts of worth because we are social creatures and share a genetic heritage.
I hate to be politically incorrect (not,) but I look at three factors to determine the innate worth of an individual. I usually try to think of everyone as equal, but not always. There are probably a thousand more ways to do this.
1. How that person behaves in relation to limited circumstances. (ex. The mentally incapacitated guy who writes a book or keeps a job gets more admiration from me than a genius who sits on his laurels)
2. How that person behaves in relation to society (obviously subjective, but the person who can contribute to the system socially, culturally, or by using knowledge, science, technology, etc, will have more value to that system than someone who does not)
3. Genetic traits (Appearance, gender, intelligence, etc). I hate to sound like an elitist, but everyone judges other people in relation to genetic traits. This doesn't have to be a bad thing, but it is one way to analyze people-- and I am not suggesting that it is a determinate of innate "worth."
Sure, my values are subjective and 99% cultural, but I at least realize this and change my view if it doesn't work. It's also tricky to judge the innate worth of other people when living on a society that values individual rights and equal treatment. So I do try to avoid this kind of thinking.

The innate beauty of God or nature is within us all, so I think there is infinite worth within us. As far as temporal values go, well, I guess you can just ask your friends and neighbors to give you an assessment, but that will all pass with time. Someone who truly loves you forever could give a more accurate assessment of your true worth.

The Sun glowed in Capricorn, the Sea-Goat. The Sun in astrology stands for our inner nature, revealing the mark of our true character. The tenth sign of the zodiac, Capricorn is ruled by powerful Saturn, the planet of structure and responsibility, but it is the exaltation of Mars, the planet of action and desire! A cardinal (creative and original) sign, Capricorn governs public life and organisation, combined with personal ambition and will to succeed. An earth sign, Capricorn is a loyal associate and faithful friend – although the Goat can be quite possessive and even rather jealous. Saturn, the lord of karma and emblem of structure, is strong. tenacious, logical and endowed with the capacity to work hard and long, Capricorns rarely hesitate to grasp opportunities for advancement or promotion. Capricorns are quite well-grounded, especially later in life, once they have learnt to overcome those early insecurities. More ambitious than what would appear on the surface and a natural executive or manager, Capricorns set out to accomplish and are determined to succeed one way or another. Pragmatic and goal-oriented, Capricorns soon learn how to get things done, for they aspire to positions of power and authority and admire others who attain such positions. Initiative and willingness to accept responsibilities are keys to their success, but a false pride makes it hard for them to admit when they are wrong, or to ask others for help. Though they compete aggressively for what they want, they harbour an inner lack of confidence which can make them defensive. Viewing insecurity and fear as weakness, they attempt to hide such feelings, making it hard for others to get close to them. Hard-nosed Capricorn reacts by assessing the possible worth of any given situation. The goat is a sure-footed, methodical climber. They are heading for the top of the rock, so they'll gladly work long and hard if it means getting what (or who) they want. The energy and randiness of the goat is proverbial, but they can be very lazy if they see no sense in working, or if they can achieve the same high goals in a less strenuous manner. Capricorns sense of humour is generally impeccable, although they fail to see the point of personal jokes at your expense. They hold grudges and will take revenge for perceived slights. The ancient emblem of Capricorn was the sea-goat, half goat and half fish. This symbolised the death of the lower mind and the birth of the spiritual. The goat was a popular sacrificial animal in days gone by. Saturn, structure and reality, teaches an understanding of limits in all areas of life. They respond to traditional values, rules and regulations, and proper thought and behaviour at an early age, even if they reject these things later. Without a coherent structure to guide them toward their goals, they risk losing their way. Ambition and enthusiasm fade without such a structure on which to hang them. Once the reality of something is understood, it is much easier to handle and manipulate. Capricorns can be good builders, engineers, politicians, lawyers, or business executives. Youthful appearance the lean Capricorn develops good eating habits early, which stand them in good stead as an adult. An innate spirit of competition makes them keen on sports, although they can be so aggressively determined to win, they can be less than gracious when they lose. Jogging, running (especially cross-country), golf, skating, hunting, wrestling, boxing, martial arts, and body-building are favorite activities for Capricorns in general. Although they probably looked older or more mature when they were young, they seem to defy the aging process, and retain a remarkably youthful appearance from their middle years well into old age. Capricorn rules the bones and joints (especially the knees), teeth, and skin. Sensitive skin, allergies, and broken bones are problems, while worrying too much can also result in physical disorders. They suffer from insecurity and anxiety in their youth, but blossom under Saturn in their later years. Capricorns colours are chocolate brown, royal and navy blue, dark green, charcoal grey and red. Capricorn rules metallic lead, while the red garnet is their birthstone, which protects against accidents and falls. In some ancient societies, garnets were worn only by royalty. Capricorn flowers include the camellia, orange blossom, carnation (red), baby's breath, and magnolia.
