win xp recognizes it but no drivers are found.

That should be plug and play on the USB port. Since it is a mass storage device on the USB port, it is actually using Microsoft provided drivers under Windows System 32.

The usb port works with flash drives, suited? Does the externalchronic ensue in My computer? If the WD is new it won't have any documents on it and it won't do something. abode windows might say new hardware stumbled on or beep like while a sub flashchronic is plugged it and thats's it. attempt this bypass to regulate Panel > Admin procedures > computer administration >storage >Disk administration > detect exterior usbchronic.now and lower back thechronic letters get snarled and you're able to manually assign achronic letter. usually better to apply the letter J or greater.

Most hard drives wont need a driver, or if they do it is on the hard drive itself. Tell windows to search the external hard drive for the drivers. (If it simply isn't working without drivers)
